The Walton's Mountain Museum, Schuyler, Virginia - A Great Vacation and Travel Destination

When you mention, good wholesome, family quality Television shows of the past, without a doubt there are two shows that come to mind; The Waltons and  Little House On The Prairie. The Waltons has always been the favorite of mine, and like thousands of other viewers, we all enjoy watching it in syndication today, as much as we did when each weekly episode was new back in the 1970's.

If you are a fan of the Waltons, without a doubt there are some people, places and things of the show, that stick in your mind. Some of these are of course the shows creator and narrator Earl Hamner, John Boy and others. Some of the most memorable rooms and places from the show are of course John Boy's room, with his Boatright college banner hanging on the wall, and his desk where he wrote down his stories in his daily journals, the family kitchen with the large table,  the Baldwin Sisters famous 'recipe' room and Godseys Store. Some of the most memorable towns or places mentioned on the show are; Waynesboro, Lynchburg, Charlottesville, and the Rockfish River.

How often have you wished you could visit them places, or see the kitchen, John Boy's room, or take a trip to Godseys Store? All you have to do to make your dreams come true is travel to The Walton's Mountain Museum, Schuyler, VA. The actual locations Waynesboro, Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Richmond and even the Rockfish River are real places that are not very far from the Museum.

The Walton's Mountain Museum, Schuyler, VA, is a dream come true for any true Walton's fan, there are several rooms in the museum that are laid out to look just like the ones seen on the Television show. The Kitchen room even has a replica of the famous Waltons kitchen table that is seen in probably every episode of the show, the Family Room has items that look just like the Walton's family room, including the actual Radio that was used by the Waltons cast on the show, this is the same one that is also shown in the opening credits being brought home by John Walton.

The Museum even has a replica of John Boy's room, and there is a room that resembles the Baldwin Sisters recipe room, complete with a real moonshine 'recipe' making still, there is even an Ike Godseys Store that functions as a souvenir shop, the store even has an old crank style telephone like the one shown on the television show. You can buy DVDs, books, and numerous wonderful Waltons Mountain gifts.

This article covers only a very small part of the wonderful things there are to see and do while visiting The Walton's Mountain Museum, Schuyler, VA. The museum is located between Charlottesville and Lynchburg Virginia, off of State Route 29.
