Jean Bonnet Tavern in Bedford, PA - A Great Vacation and Travel Destination

The Jean Bonnet Tavern in Bedford, PA, is a great piece of Pennsylvania History, in fact this building that was built in the 1700's, was placed on the esteemed National Register of Historic Places in the 1970's. In it's early years it was used as a place of refuge or rest for numerous settlers and travelers as they made their way by. It was even used as a camp site where soldiers ordered by President George Washington stayed, as well as folks involved in the Whiskey Rebellion, which was caused by an excise tax that was placed on whiskey, to help fund the national debt..
The actual Tavern at the Jean Bonnet has some amazing features like live entertainment, scheduled events, and other specials for you to enjoy. There are numerous beers, wines and specialty drinks to fulfill any thirst.
There is another attraction that brings numerous visitors to the Jean Bonnet Tavern, and that is it's haunted history. People have been reportedly touched by unseen hands, others have heard conversations when there is nobody visible where the voices seem to be coming from, others have seen specters or ghosts of folks from times past, and there have been many other paranormal and spooky events.
Besides the main Jean Bonnet Tavern, there is also a place to shop and buy some great gifts and other items, and it's called the Cabin Shoppe. The Jean Bonnet Cavern Shoppe is located inside a log cabin that was originally buit in the late 1700's, and it's been open to the public since 2006. Here you can find such wonderful items as; Informative Books on local Pennsylvania historic sites and other great information, clean burning and pleasantly scented candles, clothing items such as hats, hoodies and shirts, pewter dishware, pottery, gift certificates and many other great gifts.
