The El Paso Museum of Art has been around for more than 50 years and it is a wonderful place to visit in El Paso. This museum is great for locals and tourists and has a great deal of information on the culture and background of New Mexico, Texas, and Mexico. The permanent collection in the museum boasts more than 5,000 works of art. Beyond the many different works of art that belong to the museum there are also many exhibitions that are temporary and scheduled throughout the year. Additionally, the museum schedules concerts, lectures, films, and hosts other programs that are educational for its patrons. More than 100,000 visitors visit the accredited museum each year. So, if you happen to be in El Paso and are interested in the history of the area you should definitely stop by.

The City of El Paso funds the museum and it is the only art museum that is accredited within a radius of 250 miles. It is right in the center of downtown El Paso, but it is situated within walking distance of the US/Mexico border. The metropolitan population here is over 2.6 million!
