The Roswell Symphony Orchestra is an amazing experience for anyone passing through New Mexico. There are more than 60 members in the orchestra and they are all from cities around Roswell. The maestro is John Farrer and he has been with the orchestra for 36 seasons as the music director. He has had a huge impact on the orchestra and created something very special in Roswell. Those interested in seeing the Roswell Symphony Orchestra perform should contact the symphony office at 575-623-5882 or visit the office while in town. It is located at 1717 W. 2nd, Suite 112.
Visiting during the holiday season is especially nice as there are Christmas concerts that boast the members of the orchestra in addition to guest artists who are internationally recognized. There is also a free concert hold on Labor Day, which is a great way to see the orchestra perform if you are on a budget. Groups of students attending will receive a discount.
Those who will be in Roswell, New Mexico, on a regular basis may enjoy attending the RSO Chamber Music Series that is held at the Roswell Museum and Art Center. The series is excellent because it shows off the hard work of chamber groups from across the United States and the series is reasonably priced.
If you like orchestras and are planning a trip to New Mexico check the schedule for the Roswell Symphony Orchestra to see if they will be performing while you are in town. It truly is an experience that is worthwhile and one you won't soon forget.
